You can clone repositories on GitHub to GitHub Desktop.

Tip: You can also clone existing repositories in GitHub Desktop. For more information, see "Cloning a repository from GitHub Desktop."

  1. Sign in to GitHub and GitHub Desktop before you start to clone.
    1. On GitHub, navigate to the main page of the repository.
  2. Under your repository name, click Clone or download. Clone or download button

  3. Click Open in Desktop to clone the repository and open it in GitHub Desktop. Open in Desktop button
  4. Click Choose... and, using the Finder window, navigate to a local path where you want to clone the repository. The choose button on the URL tab

    Note: If the repository is configured to use LFS, you will be prompted to initialize Git LFS.

    Note: If the repository is configured to use LFS, you will be prompted to initialize Git LFS.

  6. Click Clone. The clone button
