If you want to use the GitHub logo or Octocat to link to any part of GitHub in your website or third-party application, we have a set of media files you can use, along with guidelines for how you can use them.

Acceptable uses of the GitHub logo

You may use the GitHub logo or Octocat to refer to GitHub.

Examples

  • A link to your GitHub profile that says "Check me out on :octocat:".
  • A link to GitHub within a third-party application that integrates with GitHub.

Unacceptable uses of the GitHub logo

You may not use the GitHub logo to refer to a product or service that is not owned by GitHub. This goes for all usage situations including but not limited to applications, print material, and websites.

If you want to use artwork not included in our logo repository, please contact GitHub Support with your specific image request.
