You can connect your and GitHub Enterprise accounts to search for content in certain private repositories from GitHub Enterprise.

If you use GitHub Enterprise and and your GitHub Enterprise site administrator has enabled GitHub Connect and Unified Search for private repositories, then you can search for designated private repositories in the connected organization.

To see private repositories in your search results, you must already have access to these repositories and connect your GitHub Enterprise and accounts. For more information about the repositories you can search in, see "Searching across GitHub Enterprise and simultaneously."

  1. Sign in to your GitHub Enterprise instance and

  2. On your GitHub Enterprise instance, in the upper-right corner of any page, click your profile photo, then click Settings. Settings icon in the user bar

  3. In the left sidebar, click GitHub Connect. GitHub Connect tab in the user settings sidebar

  4. Click Connect to Connect to from GitHub Enterprise settings

  5. Review the resources that GitHub Enterprise will access from your account, then click Authorize. Authorize connection between GitHub Enterprise and
