Sobre o GitHub Sponsors

GitHub Sponsors allows the developer community to financially support the people and organizations who design, build, and maintain the open source projects they depend on, directly on GitHub.

Neste artigo

Note: GitHub Sponsors for organizations is currently in beta and subject to change.

Sobre o GitHub Sponsors

Anyone with a GitHub account can sponsor anyone with a sponsored developer profile or sponsored organization profile through a recurring monthly payment. You can choose from multiple sponsorship tiers, with monthly payment amounts and benefits that are set by the sponsored developer or organization. Your sponsorship will share your account's existing billing date, payment method, and receipt. Para obter mais informações, consulte "Sobre a cobrança do GitHub Sponsors".

Anyone who contributes to an open source project and has a bank account in a country supported by Stripe Connect is eligible to become a sponsored developer. Contributions include but are not limited to bug reports, issue triage, code, documentation, leadership, business development, project management, mentorship, and design. If you live in a country that is not supported by Stripe Connect, you can sign up for the waitlist to participate in the beta of GitHub Sponsors. For more information, see "Setting up GitHub Sponsors for your user account."

There are a small number of sponsored organizations currently participating in the limited beta. Any organization that contributes to an open source project and has a dedicated bank account for your organization in a country supported by Stripe Connect is eligible to become a sponsored organization. To request access to the next beta phase for sponsored organizations, join the waitlist at GitHub Sponsors. For more information, see "Setting up GitHub Sponsors for your organization."

Sobre o GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund

To supercharge community funding, GitHub created the GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund, which matches up to $5000 USD total per sponsored developer in their first year, or 12 months, of sponsorship. The GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund aims to benefit members of the GitHub community who develop open source software that promotes the GitHub Community Guidelines. Sponsored organizations are not eligible for GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund.

Sponsorships may be eligible for matching within the limitations stated here for the first year that an individual is a participant in GitHub Sponsors. Eligibility for matching begins after GitHub admits an account to GitHub Sponsors, which publishes the sponsorship profile for the account. The matching period cannot be extended for any reason. If you leave GitHub Sponsors and rejoin later, the gap between your participation periods may count toward your matching period or your matching period may expire. During the matching period, GitHub will not charge any fees, so 100% of sponsorships will go to the sponsored developer. In the future, we may charge a nominal processing fee. To be eligible for the GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund, you must apply to GitHub Sponsors by January 1, 2020.

All sponsored developer accounts will be reviewed for eligibility for the GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund, but not all sponsored developers will receive matching, subject to the following limitations:

  • You must have a GitHub account, be a current sponsored developer, and have an active sponsored developer account.
  • You must maintain continuing compliance with and not be in violation of the GitHub Sponsors Additional Terms, GitHub’s Terms of Service, and any other GitHub policies.
  • You must not otherwise be in violation of the GitHub Community Guidelines.
  • Your use of GitHub and your sponsored developer account must be, based on our determination, in our sole discretion, in accordance with the GitHub Sponsors mission to expand the opportunities to contribute to open source that upholds the GitHub Community Guidelines.
  • In addition to the foregoing, GitHub reserves the right to block any user from participation in the GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund for any reason, including but not limited to the posting of content or projects that GitHub determines are offensive or otherwise objectionable.

Funds that are charged back to the sponsor before the sponsored developer’s funds are paid out are not eligible for matching. If GitHub discovers a potential violation of this policy, prior to payment of any matching funds granted during the matching period, GitHub may disable payouts until an investigation has been resolved, and matched funds contributed to the sponsored developer may be revoked if they are found to be in violation of this policy.

GitHub does not allow operating more than one free user account. As such, matching is available on an individual basis and will not be approved across multiple accounts. "Donation for donation" schemes or other attempts to game the GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund are a violation of this policy and the GitHub Sponsors Additional Terms, and any funds matched during this period will be revoked.

The GitHub Sponsors Matching Fund is subject to additional terms and conditions. For more information about GitHub Sponsors and for capitalized terms not defined here, see the "GitHub Sponsors Additional Terms".
